1. The September issue of PE & RS has an important paper on the work being done by Dr. Habib and others.
2. A mathematical methodology is being proposed to assess the quality of derived lidar data and the associated system parameters.
3. The goal of this important research is to produce a set of standards for judging the quality of the derived lidar data.

1. There is an opportunity for sensors to become more intelligent.
2. The new Z/I RMK-D digital aerial camera may some day be integrated with a laser scanner to extract features at the sensor.

The need for breaklines has been debated for a number of years without a clear standard being developed.
Producing contours from a LiDAR survey causes additional issues in the area of breaklines.
Should we still be using contours in a 3D world?
