1. SpaceX built a LIDAR sensor – the DragonEye, from concept to final hardware in 10 months. It was recently successfully flown on the Space Shuttle.
2. In the future the plan is to use the DragonEye as a real time proximity sensor on SpaceX vehicle missions to re-supply the International Space Station.
3. Hopefully some of this data processing technology will make its way into the literature.

1. I wanted to check back with Velodyne to see if there was any news.
2. Velodyne is teaming with GrayMatter to offer a trial version of its visualization point cloud software.
3. Is the mobile mapping community going to be interested in this technology?

This is report from a short visit to the ILMF09 conference in New Orleans. The overall conference was discussed. Two companies were highlighted – Definiens and Velodyne.
