Advancements in Reality Modeling

Tuesday, June 5, 2018 | 10:30 -10:50 a.m.

Presented by: Pascal Martinez, Global Reality Modeling Sales Director

Reality modeling is the process of capturing existing site conditions to create high-fidelity, georeferenced, 3D models to provide real-world digital context and a complete, up-to-date representation of the asset. All involved parties—from remotely located stakeholders, to engineers in the office, to workers in the field—can be connected and assist in the asset design, construction, operation, and inspection workflows.  Learn how organizations around the world are leveraging reality modeling in their infrastructure projects.

Reality Modeling Cloud Service

Tuesday, June 5, 2018 | 2:00 – 2:20 p.m.

Presented by: Arnaud Durante, Reality Modeling Product Development Manager

Accessible from the office or field, you can easily generate, share, and stream your 3D reality models across project teams and applications to add real-world digital context to your infrastructure projects. Join us as we explore Bentley’s CONNECT cloud services ContextCapture Cloud Processing Service and ProjectWise ContextShare.  Come see how easy it is to create 3D models with the ContextCapture Mobile and ContextCapture Console applications.

ContextCapture Center for Large Scale 3D Models

Tuesday, June 5, 2018 | 2:30 – 2:50 p.m.

Presented by: Arnaud Durante, Reality Modeling Product Development Manager

Learn how easily and quickly you can generate highly detailed 3D models of any size or scale with ContextCapture Center.  With ContextCapture Center, you can leverage high performance parallel computing speeds to produce 3D reality models using an infinite number of input images and/or point clouds to provide real-world digital context for your infrastructure projects.

The four stages of 3D Gaussian Splatting reconstruction, visualised as a single progression. A sparse point cloud provides the initial spatial skeleton (left); large overlapping Gaussian primitives are seeded from those points and begin to occupy volume (second); the optimiser densifies and refines those primitives, packing them tighter as the form converges (third); finally, alpha-compositing from the correct viewpoint produces a photorealistic render with no visible primitives remaining (right). The primitives never disappear, they simply become coherent. This is not a surface mesh, not a voxel grid, not a neural network at render time. It is millions of learned ellipsoids, each carrying position, shape, rotation, colour and opacity, composited in depth order at real-time frame rates. Image: Mike Devers / Cr8ive Media
