Geo Week Event Scholarship Applications Now Open – Emphasis on “Tech for Good”
Scholarship to provide university students with the opportunity to attend Geo Week
Portland, ME, September 23, 2025 – Organizers of Geo Week announced the application period is now open for the Geo Empower Event Scholarship, an initiative dedicated to empowering university students passionate about utilizing geospatial, surveying, mapping, and 3D technology for social good. The scholarship program seeks to nurture innovation, facilitate knowledge exchange, and provide access to mentoring and networking opportunities by selecting university students to attend Geo Week through an event scholarship.
“Geo Week launched the Geo Empower scholarship last year to profound success. We are thrilled to continue this initiative to support and inspire our future workforce,” said Lora Burns, Senior Marketing Manager and DEI Manager at Geo Week. “Geospatial technology is rapidly transforming how we address challenges like environmental monitoring, urban planning, and disaster response. We are dedicated to investing in the next generation of geospatial leaders who will use technology to better their communities and environment, and we aim to provide a powerful platform for mentorship, education, and industry event access early in their careers.”
Geo Week is seeking Geo Empower Event Scholarship applications from students currently studying at a university in the United States who are passionate about applying technology towards positive social and environmental impacts. Three students will be selected as Geo Empower Event Scholarship recipients and will receive a full conference pass to Geo Week, complimentary hotel accommodations, a travel stipend towards airfare, and mentorship matching onsite with geospatial professionals in leadership positions.
