GeoLas Systems is excited to announce a new major release of GeoLas Geocode raw data processing software. New in version 5 are:

  • improved data management tools, including the TrajectoryPlot, an app to display the trajectory and flightlines graphically,
  • full integration with BayesMap’s latest version of the WavEx waveform processing and geocoding software. With WavEx’s advanced algorithms and parallel processing capabilites waveform processing is sped-up substantially, range disambiguation is simplified, and return detection and discrimination are enhanced, yielding more comprehensive and more accurate point clouds faster.

Geocode is GeoLas System’s easy-to-use software tool for processing the raw waveform data collected by ELMAP airborne lidar systems and converting it into geocoded point clouds in a map-projected coordinate system. Point cloud data can be output in different formats, such as customized ASCII, TerraScan BIN, or LAS. Normalized waveform data is also available for advanced post processing requirements.

WavEx is BayesMap’s software for point cloud extraction from lidar waveform data, featuring advanced techniques for return detection, automatic range ambiguity resolution, and point cloud geocoding. Efficient algorithms and an optimized implementation of multi-core and multi-processor-aware parallel processing perform full-waveform data extraction at an amazing speed. Geocode optionally integrates WavEx as the hard-working processing back-end while Geocode provides its user-friendly data management interface.
