Plans are being made to 3D laser scan the Sun Temple at Konark in India. This 13th century Sun Temple is described in much greater detail at this website.
In a long-term conservation measure, the Archaeological Survey of India would undertake 3D laser scanning on the outer side and take a videograph of the interior of the world-famous Sun Temple at Konark, known for its intricate sculpture and complex design according to ASI Director General Goutam Sengupta.
The carvings are reminiscent of the work done at the Rani ki Vav stepwell that was recently highlighted in a LiDAR Magazine article.
