Contractor Hensel Phelps manages and collaborates on thousands of laser scans using Cintoo Cloud

On March 24, Cintoo was joined by Drew Rebman from leading construction firm, Hensel Phelps, to demonstrate how workflow efficiency has been vastly improved on a major airport project using Cintoo Cloud.

With the team scanning every day and having amassed more than 6,000 scans already, Hensel Phelps turned to Cintoo Cloud to host and manage its rapidly accumulating data during this eight-year remodeling project.

Drew Rebman, VDC Manager at Hensel Phelps, explained: “Our original cloud-based platform wasn’t getting a lot of adoption from the full team. But once we onboarded Cintoo Cloud, it became far easier for everyone to use the data. We use multiple platforms to capture our data so Cintoo Cloud being platform-agnostic was a much-needed tool in our toolbox.”

As a result, the team can clearly view and inspect what exists, see the work that’s taking place and demo what it will look like by comparing their scans to the BIM models.

Furthermore, the ability to share the data with both internal and external team members means users can annotate tasks and flag issues, empowering better communication around any challenges and the ability to address these before they become an issue.

Dominique Pouliquen, Cintoo’s CEO, added: “It’s great to see Hensel Phelps benefiting from providing their data to the full project team with Cintoo. By extracting meaningful information from their laser scans, construction firms can make their projects run far more efficiently.

“Many companies still resort to hard drives for storing and sharing their data, leading to detrimental data siloes. Those firms making their laser scan data accessible to everyone involved in a project benefit from full transparency, risk mitigation and ultimately achieving the best project outcomes.”
