GeoSLAM Appoints Richard Betts, CEO and John Allan, Vice President Sales & Marketing
Company Continues to Grow Business with a Global Network of over 45 Distributors across 37 countries
Bingham, UK – February 23, 2017—GeoSLAM, the pioneer of SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping)-based handheld 3D indoor mapping systems today announced the Board of Directors has appointed Richard Betts as CEO and John Allan as Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
The appointment comes as the four-year-old company continues its rapid global business expansion with a worldwide network of over 45 distributors in 37 countries that sell its award-winning SLAM technology. GeoSLAM enables real time 3D modelling of indoor or enclosed environments without the need for GPS. The technology is used in a wide variety of sectors including architecture, construction, BIM, surveying, mining and forestry.
Richard Betts brings his proven global corporate expansion expertise to GeoSLAM, having previously worked as President of Mettoni Inc, a provider of unified communication software solutions with operations in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Asia Pacific and as Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Enghouse Interactive in the Americas.

Reporting directly to Betts, John Allan brings extensive global experience in geospatial, remote sensing/photogrammetry and maritime monitoring industries. Previous appointments he has held include senior marketing and sales positions with ERDAS, BAE Systems and exactEarth Ltd.
In his new role, John Allan is responsible for the ongoing expansion of GeoSLAM’s global sales and marketing strategy.
