Heliscope 2.0: A New Generation of Utility Inspection Technology
Sharper Shape, a leading provider of unmanned aerial utility inspection solutions, announced this week the global release of its latest product, the Heliscope 2.0. This new generation of on-board data collection technology brings unprecedented speed, efficiency, and productivity improvements to the utility inspection industry.
The Heliscope 2.0 integrates multiple sensor systems into a single, on-board helicopter payload, capable of simultaneously collecting a range of data types required for utility maintenance and vegetation management inspections. The Heliscope 2.0 sends a consolidated data stream to its removable Solid State Drive, which integrates fully with Sharper Shape’s Cloud Optimized Remote Evaluation (CORE) processing software. Upon data collection, CORE automatically processes LiDAR point clouds to quickly generate vegetation management reports, optimizing inspection and maintenance schedules from the source.
In addition, the Heliscope 2.0 is equipped with several other advanced technologies, including:
- Automatic Issue Detection (AID) machine vision software
- Artificial intelligence (AI)
- FAA-approved nose mount
- A unique Glider aerodynamic sled
The Heliscope 2.0 is the first of its kind to offer this wide range of options for collecting aerial data and then processing it automatically into several different report formats.
