JAMES VAN RENS WINS PRESIDENTIAL AWARD AT MAPPS SUMMER CONFERENCE 2019!

On Thursday, July 17th, 2019, James Van Rens, Senior Vice President with RIEGL USA and Strategic Advisor for Government and Industry Relations for the RIEGL Group, was honored with the Presidential Award at the MAPPS Summer Conference 2019! The Presidential Awards were presented to geospatial professionals for their significant contributions to the MAPPS association and to the geospatial profession for 2019.

James Van Rens has served on the MAPPS Board of Directors as the Associate Member Liaison since Summer of 2017 and has been a dedicated member of RIEGL management for the last twenty-two years. He is a well-known leader in 3D mapping techniques and their applications with numerous contributions made to the geospatial industry.

Brian Raber, outgoing MAPPS President and Vice President with Merrick & Company was kind enough to share a few words about Van Rens and his contributions. “Each year, the MAPPS President recognizes individuals who go above and beyond to advance the mission of the association. Jim received the President’s Award for his tireless work with our Associate Members, Membership Committee and Legislative Affairs. Jim is always there to support, and I highly appreciate his efforts.”

RIEGL is a proud long-term member and contributor to MAPPS, the only national association of firms in the surveying, spatial data and geographic information systems field in the United States.
