NavVis + Qualcomm Smart Cities Accelerator Program

Bringing next-generation mobile mapping technology for the built environment to the Qualcomm Smart Cities Accelerator Program.

NavVis is pleased to announce it has joined the Qualcomm Smart Cities Accelerator Program to promote smart, secure building technologies.

The goal of the Qualcomm Smart Cities Accelerator Program is to connect cities, municipalities, government agencies, and enterprises with an ecosystem of providers, forging connections that can make smart city visions a concrete reality.

“As a member of the Qualcomm Smart Cities Accelerator Program, NavVis will support our growing ecosystem of IoT solution providers by delivering immersive technologies and supporting our ecosystem members as they look to leverage solutions to enhance existing buildings for smart, secure, digitally-powered spaces,” said Sanjeet Pandit, senior director, business development and global head of smart cities, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.

With proven expertise in commercially deployed solutions, program members include hardware and software providers, cloud solution providers, system integrators, design and manufacturing companies, as well as those offering end-to-end smart city solutions. By joining members with those searching for smart city solutions, the program accelerates the transformation of city infrastructure and services to enrich people’s lives.

NavVis and Qualcomm to unlock the potential of buildings globally

To mark the occasion, NavVis technicians have scanned 220,000 square feet of Qualcomm’s Morehouse campus in San Diego, California using the new NavVis VLX wearable mapping system.

Virtual walkthroughs created using this mobile mapping device are accessible using NavVis IndoorViewer, so that people off-site can remotely access the building as though they were there in person.

This rich visual representation of the building will be incorporated into both campus and building applications to allow simple way-finding, as well as visibility into sensor data within the spatial context.

“Our participation in the Qualcomm Smart Cities Accelerator Program will unlock the potential of buildings globally,” said Felix Reinshagen, NavVis CEO and co-founder.

“Going forward, all members of the Qualcomm Smart Cities Accelerator Program will have the ability to benefit from our innovative suite of technologies. Additionally, our technologies will support

ecosystem members towards the path of delivering greater efficiencies, cost savings, safety, and sustainability in the built environment.”

After several cycles of growth and expansion, NavVis continues to push the frontiers of indoor spatial intelligence. Our revolutionary digital twin platform has been embraced by some of the world’s leading manufacturing companies, and we look forward to bringing value to the Qualcomm Smart Cities Accelerator Program through this unique blend of smart building technologies and services.
