At Lidar News, we’re always eager to share developments that support best practices and standards across the AEC and geospatial sectors. The U.S. Institute of Building Documentation (USIBD) has announced an exciting update — the revitalization of its Laser Scanning Committee. This initiative underscores USIBD’s commitment to best practices, education, and innovation in the laser scanning industry.

The committee will serve as a resource for a wide range of stakeholders, from experienced professionals and service providers to architects, engineers, and clients exploring the integration of laser scanning into their projects. By fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and education, the committee seeks to elevate industry standards and make laser scanning more accessible and reliable.

The committee will be led by Sean Tomlinovich (Chairperson) and Gregory Jensen (Vice Chairperson), both of Langan Engineering and Environmental Services, bringing a combined 24 years of expertise to the effort.

Monthly Meetings: Every third Tuesday | 10:00 AM PDT / 1:00 PM EDT
First Meeting: Tuesday, September 16, 2025
❓ Contact: Sean (stomlinovich@langan.com) or Greg (gjensen@langan.com)
