Two years in development, Emesent is making a major product announcement at Geo Week in Denver starting February 16.
Built on extensive feedback from clients and users, detailed study of the market, and backed by ongoing success of Emesent Hovermap, the SLAM-powered autonomous LiDAR mapping system, the latest release represents Emesent’s renewed focus on meeting the needs of surveyors in construction and building engineering.
The new Emesent scanner leverages the power of internally developed SLAM technology to improve the quality of results – especially for fast, mobile scans.
Key feedback has driven Emesent to create a product that obviates the need to deploy a TLS in many use cases, provide detailed point clouds and realistic colorized 360-degree imagery with dependable results.
“If I could get Hovermap down to 5-10mm I wouldn’t need the TLS,” Garry Elali of GeoTwin told Emesent. “I’d use it on 100% of my jobs.”
Meanwhile surveying company owners have lamented the complexity of equipment and the desire for a simpler system that reduces training overheads.
Emesent incorporated all these considerations into the design of its new mobile scanner. We’ll soon see when Emesent demonstrates at Geo Week booth #911. Here’s a sneak peek of what to expect.
