Younger Geospatial Professional of the Year Award 2022

Rami Tamimi was the recipient of the Younger Geospatial Professional of the Year award at the recent Geo Week 2022 conference in Denver, CO. There were a number of excellent submissions making the judging a real challenge. Lidar News and Geo Week want to thank all of the YGPs that submitted their videos for their efforts and encourage everyone to continue to reach for excellence in their geospatial careers.
For background, Rami Tamimi is the Founder and Chief Geodetic Engineer at GEOICS “Geo-I-K-S”. He is also a Ph.D. student at The Ohio State University studying Geodetic Engineering.

Early in his career, Rami’s father, a Professional Surveyor introduced him to the profession of land surveying. Rami enrolled at Ferris State University in Michigan to receive his Bachelor of Science in Surveying Engineering.

Rami began working in the Land Development Industry where his interest in Geospatial Technology began to grow. After completing a Master of Science in Civil Engineering at Wayne State University in Michigan,

Rami was given the opportunity to teach at The Ohio State University while starting his Ph.D. He began creating video content about surveying and geospatial technology for his students on YouTube, and today has an audience of over 25,000 subscribers and 1.5 million views.
